OMG!! You have to check out the mad eating skillz of Cinnamon the Original Disapproving Rabbit Bunnies are too funny

Favorite Links ...Tuesday

Since I'm running this blog I can change up the weekly schedule if I want to... even if I really like the alliteration of "Favorite Links Friday" [sigh]

I spent the morning going through the posts and pictures on the Daily Coyote site and I feel that other people really just need to check them out. SS runs the site devoted to her rescued coyote friend, Charlie. Charlie came to her as a very young puppy when he was orphaned, and with the help of her cat, Eli, SS enjoys the gorgeous Wyoming scenery and Charlie's antics. She posts regularly on her blog but is five months behind the present since that was when she decided to start the blog in the first place-- so don't be surprised by talk of snow when it's warm outside. I appreciate the real-time, because you can never see too many pictures of cute baby fluffy things.

I also find it funny that Charlie is now much bigger than Eli, but still is scared of the cat when he gets mad. My favorite story SS told was when Charlie annoyed Eli into getting a hiss and a swat, which sent Charlie hiding up on the bed. Not deterred from his play, Charlie was tossing about a toy, only to lose it and have it land next to the perturbed cat. SS was cracking up over how obvious it was that Charlie really wanted to get his toy back, but was afraid of Eli getting mad at him again. :)

Another bonus is that her photos are super-great! They vary between really breath-taking mountain scenes (a personal favorite is "Horizon Fire"), artistic shots of Charlie looking stoic, and the more frequent berserker, Charlie-at-play moments. Looking at some of her stuff, I sometimes wish I could get photos like that.

Besides, she titles her pictures wonderfully: things like "Corn Spaz," "Yippee in a Puddle; It's Friday," and "Sometimes you Feel like a Nut." I think we all need a little yippee in a puddle because it's Friday now and then. :)

Cute!

So, I'm on this mailing list for a British (go figure) cross stitch store, and normally they send emails about stuff I have no time or desire for. Except this week I got some cute patterns! I may get the bunny alphabet and do something cute for lara (shhh... don't tell her), and the shop can always use sheepy things.

I Need to Feel Sorry for Myself for a Bit

Do you ever get the feeling that you are not in control of your life? Maybe it's because I am in this post-college limbo with no real job or life plans and I don't understand half of what is happening around me. I mean, I've graduated and they say I can do whatever I want... well, thanks a lot, jerk, that really helps me narrow down my choices. What do I want to do with my life? Where do I start looking? How do I know what I will and won't like doing every day when I don't really know anything about anything? (And no, college career services didn't help at all. They only were of service if you were a Business student because that was easiest for them to handle-- accounting firms are always hiring people. If you truly needed help choosing a career, you were out of luck. One of my roommates wanted to do anything with classical Hebrew studies and was practically laughed out of a career fair because it was filled with accounting firms and policemen. Needless to say, she was angry.)

So, I had two part-time jobs here, but one has forgotten about me (temp service) and thus I am living on part-time wages which kinda suck because I can't put away any savings. And I live day-to-day (is there another way?) so I don't freak out about future plans, but then when I pause for a moment, I freak out because I am ignoring future plans! Day-to-day, day-to-day... then BAM! all of a sudden it's April and where have the last three months gone? Shouldn't I be doing something with my life? My career goals are basic, I'm not asking for much: salary > bills, health insurance, and some enjoyment from what I am doing. That's all I want, really!

I pose to any readers in the Lynchburg area: I will be moving there this summer; anyone hiring a college-educated person for full-time, self-fulfilling employment? I can learn quickly and am an industrious employee.

I am on Ravelry!

Wheeee! I am now on Ravelry! I feel like I am now caught up with the rest of the knitting world. :)

So, yes, my profile and stash and such are quite empty because I am just starting, but I promise soon I will be putting up my projects and stash. I've just got the Baltic Sea Stole from Fiber Trends (more Tofutsies yarn, tehehe) posted in my projects because that is the project I have with me at the moment. Don't worry, soon Mom's sweater, Mrs Donna's hat, John's scarf, my cardigan... everything will all soon be up there.

And if you are on Ravelry, please friend me! I feel lonely
